In response to new legislation, Dooley Rumble now offers training courses for drivers of heavy commercial vehicles. This legislation, relating to commercial vehicles weighing over 3.5 tonnes, is an EU initiative, and applies to both new and existing drivers throughout all 27 member states of the European Union. The legislation is designed to improve the knowledge and skills of drivers throughout their working lives, and it came into effect on 10th September 2009.
If you are a Large Goods Vehicle (LGV) driver, what the legislation means to you is that you will have to get yourself a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). In order to gain the Driver CPC, it is a legal requirement for you to go through 35 hours of periodic classroom-based training. If you already held a licence on 10th September 2009, you have until 10th September 2014 to undergo your 35 hours of training. Ultimately, if you do not have a CPC, you will not be entitled to drive.
Dooley Rumble are the right people for you to use for driver CPC training because we have achieved JAUPT (Joint Approval Unit for Periodic Training) accreditation. Our Distribution Manager, an ex-driver himself, has taken on the role of Training Manager.
